ECAHS Lifetime Achievement Award Winner 2020
ECAHS practiced social distancing to the extreme. The ECAHS Crabbet Celebration was cancelled for the first time in over a quarter of a century. This meant that our honorees for 2020 were unable to be honored during our Saturday evening program. The awards were mailed to most of our honorees. I was given the honor to present the Lifetime Achievement Award in person along with the Benefactor of the Breed award. I had every reason to believe that I would be able to visit these two winners in a reasonable period of time. After several conversations with Francie Schermerhorn, we decided that it would be safer for everyone if I did not make the 5 hour trip to her home in northwestern New York. Sharon and I made up a package with her award, several picture canvases of some of her horses and a calendar. Francie said she was overwhelmed when she received the package and was so sorry that we had to cancel the Celebration. She wishes ECAHS much success in the future and she is honored and humbled to join our previous honorees.
